Cookiefirst

A website consent management platform that scans cookies, presents a preference center and prevents scripts from firing before consent.

What it does

CookieFirst is a consent management platform for websites and web apps used by teams who need to discover cookies, collect visitor preferences and control tag behavior for privacy compliance. Cookie scanner and automated cookie declaration CookieFirst runs periodic scans of a site to detect cookies and local storage items, classifies them, and updates the site-specific cookie declaration shown in the consent panel. Teams use the scanner to reduce manual inventory work and keep the cookie list aligned with site changes. Consent banner and preference center with autoblocking The product provides a customizable banner and granular preference panel that lets visitors accept or reject categories and specific services. CookieFirst can block third-party scripts or services until consent is given, preventing tags from firing before user approval. Google Consent Mode v2 and Google Tag Manager support CookieFirst is a Google-certified CMP that supports Consent Mode v2 and supplies integrations for Google Tag Manager. This lets tag triggers adapt to consent states and helps pass consent signals for privacy-preserving measurement workflows. Public banner script, API and developer controls Deployment is via a public banner script and documented APIs that let developers initialize and control the banner, read/write consent programmatically, and integrate with client frameworks or server-side flows. The docs describe data attributes and a GTM template to simplify integration. Traffic considerations and plans The vendor documents a soft traffic limit on standard subscriptions (about 250,000 pageviews per domain per month) with enterprise options for higher volumes; teams with many domains or very high traffic should review plan terms when planning rollout.
