Mixpanel
Event-based product analytics for teams tracking user actions, funnels, retention and experiments across web and mobile.
What it does
Mixpanel is an event-based product analytics platform used by product, growth and data teams to instrument user interactions, build funnels and cohorts, measure retention and run experiments across web and mobile. Event tracking and user profiles Mixpanel collects timestamped events (clicks, signups, purchases) and associates them with distinct user profiles. Developers send events via JavaScript, iOS/Android SDKs or server APIs, and teams use the event+property model to ask who did what and when, or to reconstruct user journeys across devices. Funnels, flows and retention analysis Create multi-step funnels to measure conversion and visualize user paths with Flows. Cohort and retention reports let teams compare behavior over time windows to find drop-off points and track feature adoption without exporting raw data. Exploration, dashboards and AI-assisted queries Interactive explorations, saved dashboards and alerts let teams monitor KPIs. Natural-language and automated summary features speed ad-hoc analysis so non-SQL users can surface hypotheses and key signals from event data. Experimentation and feature flags Mixpanel includes experimentation and feature-flagging tools that use the same event stream to measure the impact of releases and rollouts. Identity resolution and ID merge features help attribute outcomes across sessions and devices. Data pipelines, warehouse connectors and APIs Built-in pipelines and connectors export and ingest data to warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and integrate with ETL and analytics tools. REST/ingest APIs enable joining Mixpanel event data with other systems for long-term storage or SQL analysis. Note: Mixpanel depends on consistent event instrumentation; accurate insights require teams to send the events and properties they need to analyze.
