PPC reporting tools for client work

Before choosing reporting software, write down the conversation the report needs to support. A dashboard builder, a connector and an agency reporting platform do different work. The useful choice is the one that fits your data, your client access requirements and the person who will maintain it.

BEFORE YOU OPEN ANOTHER TAB

Make the trial useful.

  1. Choose one real report and define its outcome metric, reporting period and source of truth. Agree what each conversion number means.
  2. Check the difficult integration first. Verify the required fields, historic data, filters and account permissions before styling the dashboard.
  3. Ask a colleague to recreate and maintain the report. Count the manual steps, then compare the total subscription and maintenance cost.

The shortlist.

Different jobs. Different starting points.

Build a custom dashboard in Google Data Studio, formerly Looker Studio.

Looker Studio ↗

Google’s Data Studio, formerly Looker Studio, is a reporting canvas for interactive dashboards. The old name remains in this listing so existing links still work. It suits teams that want control over the layout and are happy to own their report definitions.

Consider it for
PPC specialists building custom reports and teams with someone responsible for maintaining them.
Before you commit
A dashboard does not reconcile inconsistent metric definitions for you. Check data access, connector costs and who will maintain the report when its original author leaves.
Bring marketing data into the reporting destination you already use.

Supermetrics ↗

Supermetrics connects marketing data to destinations such as Data Studio and Google Sheets. Consider it when you already know where the report should live, but collecting the required data is the repeated job.

Consider it for
Teams keeping an existing reporting setup while adding marketing data connections.
Before you commit
Choose the destination first. Then check the exact source, account allowance and fields you need. A connector does not decide how conversions from different platforms should be compared.
Standardise client dashboards, reports and branded access.

AgencyAnalytics ↗

AgencyAnalytics combines marketing data connections, dashboards and client reporting. Its agency-focused features include white-labelled reports and client access, making it a candidate when reporting needs to be repeatable across several clients.

Consider it for
Agencies standardising client reporting and the way clients access their results.
Before you commit
Check the exact integration fields you use, how client access works and what your plan includes. A standard template still needs a clear explanation of each client’s business outcome.
Evaluate a shared platform for multi-channel reporting.

Whatagraph ↗

Whatagraph brings marketing data connections and reporting into one platform. It is a candidate for teams that want a shared reporting environment instead of assembling each client report from separate exports.

Consider it for
Marketing teams and agencies delivering reports across multiple channels or client accounts.
Before you commit
Check integration coverage at field level. The presence of a platform logo does not establish that every breakdown, historic period or custom metric you need is available.
